The Cameron Church of the Nazarene offers ministry opportunities for all ages. Find ministries that connect you with your passion and calling, and allow God to work through you in these ministry areas:
Sunday School is an opportunity for you to develop relationships with other people in the church, to learn practical truths from the Bible for becoming a better follower of Jesus Christ, and to share in a prayer ministry of lifting others up in prayer and being lifted up in prayer. We currently offer Sunday School classes for all ages, including children, teens, young adult, and two adult classes.
Sunday Morning Worship
We have been created for worship. In worship we Rejoice through lifting up our songs of praise. We Reflect by bringing before God our needs and thanksgivings in prayer and listening for his voice through Bible readings and the sermon. And we Respond to God’s call to us.
In main sanctuary, we begin by worshiping all together. Toward the middle of the worship hour, our Preschool Praise and Children’s Church provide opportunities for our children to also Rejoice, Reflect, and Respond in their own age-appropriate forms.
Power on Wednesdays ("POW")
Every Wednesday night at Cameron Nazarene we have a dynamic time of refreshing and of growing closer to God and to one another. Here is how you can connect:
CHILDREN: Starting September 11, 2013, we will have a weekly devotional time and a preparation for our Children's Christmas Musical from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
TEENS: At 6:45 pm each night, we will gather to have games, food, fun, and an exciting Scripture-based series to help you grow in your relationship with God and with others. A new series on Mercy will begin on September 4th.
ADULTS: The Pastor will lead a new series exploring the Sacraments of the Church and prayer, beginning at 7:00 pm on September 11, 2013. There will be an opening song, around 25 minutes of teaching, and around 30 minutes of interactive prayer. It's a refreshing prayer service like you've never experienced before.
Kansas City Rescue Mission
On the third Sunday of each month our church sends out workers to Kansas City Rescue Mission to help set tables and serve food. Ages 10 and up are invited. We carpool in the church van from Cameron Nazarene Church at 5:00 pm. We are usually back home by no later than 9:00 pm.
Children's Ministries and Youth Group
Our Children's Department ministers to nursery, preschool, and elementary aged children with a variety of worship, fun, and service opportunities to help anchor them in their faith. Through Sunday school, Children's Church on Sundays, Wednesday night ministries, and special events throughout the year, we want our children to experience and to share the love of Jesus Christ.
We have a growing Youth Group that meets on Wednesday Nights at 6:45 pm for a time of Bible study, prayer, fun, and developing relationships. The Youth Group also has regular monthly activities that include opportunities for fun, food, and getting closer to Christ.
NOTE: All of our children and youth department workers and teachers undergo safety training and background checks to help ensure a fun and safe environment that you can trust!
Our church is actively involved in missions around the world. Through our denomination we help support hundreds of missionaries literally around the world (about 160 world areas). We do this through giving, praying for our missionaries, and hosting missionary speakers in our church on a regular basis. But our missions focus is not just worldwide, but also closer to home. We support the Kansas City Rescue Mission financially and help serve dinner there on a monthly basis. We also support a variety of community ministries including the food pantry, Crossroads Prison, and the local Ministerial Alliance, providing support for hundreds each year in this area.
Community Work Days
In 2007-2008 a new ministry we are beginning is Quarterly Work Days. On these days we will go out into the community and help clean the community, do repair work on homes of the disabled, and other practical actions that will share the love of Christ with those who need it.
Don't see a ministry listed here? Just ask, and we will be glad to talk with you about other ways of getting connected!
